How to open browser window maximized in Windows XP/Windows 7

I frequently use Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) and often keep multiple browser windows open since I use multiple internet sites simultaneously. From time to time, when I SHIFT-click or Control-New to open a new browser window, the new browser window doesn't open maximized. After doing some internet search, one way I have to open a new window maximized in both Windows XP and Windows 7 environment is the following:

1. Have only one browser window open; close all other windows.
2. On the top right corner, right-click the title-bar and select Size. You cursor will change into a 4-way arrow shaped cursor.
3. Using the 4-way arrow cursor, drag each side of the browser window to maximize it. Once you have adjusted the size of the browser window, on the top right, click Maximize button to maximize it (just in case, the adjustments you had done didn't maximize the window).
4. Click File menu and then select Exit to close the browser window (Do not click x or Close on the top right hand to close the window; you need to go through the File menu. In addition, make sure you have only one browser window open).
5. Re-open browser window - from now onwards, all new windows will automatically open maximized.
