GTE Financial: $2,500 scholarship for High School Seniors and Undergrads
GTE Financial is offering $2,500 scholarships to a number of GTE student-member. Here are the items you’ll need to complete the application:
  • Official/unofficial academic transcript
  • Volunteer information
  • School involvement, honors and awards
  • 1,000 word essay
  • Work Information and Hours
  • GTE account number for member verification
If you not a GTE Member yet, you can join before June 19th for free to become eligible for the 2013 Scholarship. GTE Financial currently offers free checking account with no minimum balance or
direct deposit requirements if you enroll in eStatements.

As per GTE Financial's website, winners are chosen based on academic achievement, demonstration of leadership abilities, and their commitment to community service and activities. High school

CPAexcel: $2,500 Spring 2013 Scholarship
CPAexcel will be awarding a $2,500 Cash Scholarship and 31 CPA Review Course Scholarships at the end of this semester. This is a random drawing open to students who are taking at least one accounting course. The deadline to enter is April 30, 2013.

$2,500 Upromise.com Scholarships - Deadline: February 25, 2009
UPromise.com is offering 200 scholarships of $2,500 each for the 2009-10 academic year. As per Upromise's Web site, the application criteria is as follows:

- Applicants must be a UPromise.com member or children of members (membership is free)
- Household income of $65,000 or less
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Applicants must be graduating high school seniors or currently-enrolled college students
- be high school seniors or graduates who plan to enroll during the 2009-10 academic year or students who are already enrolled in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university or vocational-technical school.
- Applicants must be U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents

Application deadline is February 28, 2009

Scholarships for working moms and dads
As part to Project Working Mom … and Dads, Too!, eLearners is offering various scholarships to working moms and dads to attend school. The latest campaign started on Jan 8 and will finish on April 30, 2009.
However, Casey-Ulery's greatest wish was granted when she recently applied for, and won, a Project Working Mom scholarship to attend an online college for free. Project Working Mom … and Dads, Too! is a program that will grant at least $2 million in full-ride scholarships to working parents across the country. Thanks to the Project Working Mom scholarship, Casey-Ulery will now get her degree in accounting from Everest University at no cost to her.
eLearners is also offering JumpStart scholarship which pays for first semester in school.

Japan-IDB Scholarship providing full tuition and other benefits towards graduate studies (Deadline: May 12, 2008)
Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) is offering scholarships for the 2008-2009 academic year as part of its Japan-IDB Scholarship Program. Scholarships are available for the Masters Program in development-related fields, such as the social sciences, business, public administration or other technical disciplines (except law and medicine). Applicants for an MBA scholarship must demonstrate immediate prior experience working in the public sector or in an academic capacity.

The scholarship provides benefits covering full tuition, the cost of medical and accident insurance obtained through the university, and allowances for housing, monthly subsistence, books, and economy class travel. However, the benefits may reduced if the student is granted scholarships from from the university or other organizations. Deadline is May 12, 2008.

As per their Web site, the eligibility requirements include:

1. Be a citizen of one of the borrowing member countries of the Bank.
2. Be under the age of 40.
3. Be in good health.
4. Hold a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in social sciences, business or public administration, or another development-related technical discipline.
5. Have obtained his/her university degree with superior grades.
6. Have at least two years of work experience in a public agency or in an organization devoted to research or teaching in the country of origin or residence.
7. Be currently admitted, but have not yet begun studies, in a Master’s degree program in the social sciences, business or public administration,* or another development-related technical discipline (except Law and Medicine), in a university of a member country other than the country of origin or residence, except in special cases.
8. Be prepared to return to his/her native country upon completion of studies and work for at least two years in order to apply his/her enhanced knowledge and skills towards helping accelerate the economic and social development.
9. Not be an Executive Director, their alternate, staff, long-term Consultant of the Inter-American Development Bank, a blood relative up to the fourth degree, or a relative by marriage up to the second degree. Not be an employee or consultant of any international organization.
10. Applicants must not be elected or appointed political officials during the application process and/or in the last two years of their work experience. (i.e. ambassadors, government ministers or vice-ministers, cabinet secretaries , or equivalent.

AFCE Scholarship for Accounting/Criminal Justice students (deadline: Apr 18, 2008)
The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) Foundation is offering $1,000 in scholarships to qualified students along with one-year ACFE Student Associate membership. Scholarships will be paid directly to the student’s college and will be awarded in August 2008 for the 2008-2009 academic year and will be

Eligibility criteria is as follows:

- Applicant must be an undergraduate or graduate student
- Currently enrolled full-time (12 semester hours undergraduate; 9 semester hours post-graduate, or equivalent per term) at an accredited four-year college or university (or equivalent) with a declared major or minor in accounting or criminal justice.

Deadline for application is April 18, 2008. Along with the completed application, applicants need to provide:

- a copy of official transcript(s), showing all completed college or university courses
- 3 letters of recommendation including at least one from a Certified Fraud Examiner or a local ACFE Chapter (required for U.S. and Canadian citizens only).
- 250-500 word essay explaining why the applicant deserves the scholarship and how fraud awareness will affect his or her professional career development

Justice FCU Annual Scholarship Contest - Deadline: April 1, 2008, 3 PM EST
The Justice Federal Credit Union is currently inviting entries for its Annual Scholarship Competition.

As part of this program, JFCU will grant $2,000 each to 10 JFCU scholars for educational expenses. The program is open to both high school seniors and JFCU members who have completed a minimum of 12 college credit hours.

You can download the applications from JFCU's site or pick it up at a local branch beginning February 1, 2008. Deadline is 3:00PM EDT on Tuesday, April 1, 2008. Results will be declared in June 2008.
