Enrolled Agent Continuing Education Options |
With the current year about to end soon, many taxpayers will soon be looking for qualified professionals to help them out with the onerous task of filing taxes. While CPAs are among the first professionals who come to mind, there are actually many options available for taxpayers who need outside help for filing their taxes. Alternatives include: using firms like Liberty Tax, H&R Block, and so forth. Another alternative - use Enrolled Agents.
While Enrolled Agents typically cost a lot less than the CPAs, they are not necessarily less competent than the CPAs when it comes to taxes. Infact, they may even be more familiar with the tax issues than many CPAs since they are solely focused on doing taxes while CPAs often handle other areas of accounting, including audits, attestation, financial statement preparation, and so forth. In addition, many Enrolled Agents may actually have worked directly for the IRS.
Like other licensed/certified professionals, Enrolled Agents have to pass a written exam in order to practice as an Enrolled Agent. In addition, both the IRS and National Association of Enrolled Agents specify continuing education requirements for them.
If you are already an Enrolled Agent, there are many online schools that provide courses to meet the enrolled agent continuing education requirements. One such school is Fast Forward Academy.
The school offers many online courses that can help you meet the enrolled agent cpe requirements. Another good thing about Fast Forward Academy - currently, it is also offering an opportunity to get two free CPE credit hours. You can check out their web site to find out more info about the free two CPE credit hours and ea cpe.
